Friends, family, and favorite people, happiest of holidays! Wishing you and yours love, light, and (for the East Coasters) warm socks.

26 in the Matrix

The day after getting a very exciting phone call, infra “New job. Who dis?”, we celebrated Anya’s birthday at Dolores Park with many sunglasses-ed friends. We would have looked odd had we not been in San Francisco.

Fully Oakland, Half Marathon

After a COVID interlude, Anya, Marco, and Margarita* returned to Snow Park for another 13.1 miles. Maria and Fernando, however, beat them to the finish line without breaking a sweat. (Read: They drove to the finish line.)

*Margarita ran an additional 5K that morning. Wowza!

Cruzin’ with the Homies

Another post-vaccine first. We reunited with our Berkeley Law La Raza friends (Genesis, Nestor, Joanna, and many more) at the 20th Annual Hon. Cruz Reynoso Gala—Anya’s first since joining the selection committee!

Mexico, De Novo

Y volver, volver, volver . . . IYKYK. After Tulum and Merida last year, we returned to Mexico to visit DF (s/o Nick and Nayeli for joining us) and San Miguel de Allende. Through pure serendipity we ended up in SMA during La Semana Santa. We were reborn to say the least!

2020 Hindsight

In March 2020, Berkeley Law announced that we were to go home for an early spring break; that was the last time we saw many of our classmates. Though some returned for the make-up commencement this May, we never got the iconiq La Raza photo Anya planned for three years. Instead, we got this photo with our raza.

Bachelorettes of Architecture

Margarita graduated from Cal Poly SLO, so we went to celebrate! Anya took these graduation portraits of Margarita and her roommates in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design, while Fernando billed from his remote office (Scout Coffee #2).

Longest Road to D.C.

As Anya got ready to move to D.C., friends from all around the Bay came down to San Jose say bye over a *friendly* game of Catan. Sabrina and Grant won the game, and now they’re engaged! #DoubleWinning

Clockwise from top left: Grant, Sabrina, Margarita, Niland, Fernando, Anya, Harris, Sarah, Keith, Kevin, Micaela, Joanna. (Honorable mention: Javi).

New job. Who dis?

Over the course of a few days, Anya wrapped up her clerkship with Judge Cousins, moved to D.C., and started her Supreme Court Fellowship!! Fernando helped her move her life to D.C. in four carry-on bags. Heavy? Yes. But worth it because he found Brine? Also, yes.

Fernando Turns Three!

In associate years. He’s now a full-fledged IP associate—with the eye bags to prove it! Licensed to #slay, Fernando is living life on his own terms and conditions.

In His Prime, Though Not a Prime

Between LA and D.C., Fernando has barely broken in his new apartment. But obvio he couldn't miss Fernando Sr.’s 70th birthday turn up. I’m talking, tacos, aqua frescos, and all the mariachi your heart desires.

Next time you see him, ask for some wisdom por que más sabe el diablo por viejo que por diablo.

In Camera Session

In November, Fernando came to D.C. to visit Anya, but more importantly, to take some fly pics in front of the Supreme Court. Thank you, Margarita, for pressing the buttons! #pitstures

Older, Wiser, Hotter

When I tell you this family is full of

Scorpios . . . Fernando celebrated his birthday in D.C. with some of our Berkeley Law faves. Sbagliatos were had. Stunnin’.
