Yesterday I went to Philly with a group of friends from UCDC, and we spent the day taking in the sights and the history and having a great time! As a political science major with an American politics emphasis Philadelphia pretty close to heaven. We saw the place where Jefferson penned the Declaration of Independence, the liberty bell, Independence Hall... It was incredible. We were also lucky enough to squeeze in enough time to visit the Philadelphia Museum of Art, which was a real treat. I was able to see, in-person, Van Gogh's sunflowers, Monet's water lilies, Degas' little dancer; pieces that I'd heard about my whole life right in front of me. After the museum we found a beautiful view to watch the sun set. And of course, we ended the day with some Philly Cheesesteaks (chicken, in my case!). All in all, I am grateful for the experience, and I am so grateful to my UCDC friends for sharing it with me!
