Today I jumped into a 150 foot deep hole in the ground. Well, granted, it was filled with water, but my point being, it has been an exciting day.
We embarked on our journey on Wednesday morning, taking off from San Francisco around 6:00am and we didn't reach our hotel in Chichen Itza until around 11:00pm on Wednesday night. After almost an entire day of traveling, today, Thursday, was a pretty laid back day. After breakfast, Eli, Margarita, and I explored the grounds of the hotel (a great place, by the way, 10/10 would recommend- it's called the Dolores Alba hotel, for reference). We spent a long time relaxing in the two pools and then we headed into town for lunch. After lunch we visited the Cenotes, which is a very deep underground swimming hole. Regretfully, I didn't get any pictures because I didn't want to risk getting my camera water damaged or smashed, but here is a link to what the place looked like. We returned to the hotel and spent another hour in the pool before eating a delicious dinner or "Chicken Itza".
Now, I am sitting by the front office, posting this on the blog so that I can share reflect on the incredible time that I am having, and it is only the first day!
